Taliesyn West was Frank Lloyd Wright's winter home and school for architects.
His buildings were built with native stones and concrete.
If you look close you will see a hammer stuck in the side of this building. It was accidentally dropped in the mold when this piece was made. Mr Wright said it should be left there to honor all of his apprentices.
During a trip to orient Mr Wright bought a number of these ceramic Chinese theater scenes site unseen. When they were received they were all broken. He had his apprentices piece them together. You will see several of these and you might notice if you look close that they are put together rather strangely.
Several large stones were found on the property which contained petroglyphs. He told his apprentices to memorize where they were found. Upon completion of each area the stones were placed back in their original positions.
The roofs and windows were made from canvas.
The water for his area comes from a well that he had drilled after studying the area for several years.
If you look close in the photograph you will notice that the two poles are not attached to the ground. They are free swinging.

All of these walls were hand built by his apprentices with his guidance. He believed that in order to design something you had to know how they were built.
It took many years before glass was used in the buildings.

Because there was little in the way of entertainment at that time one night a week everyone would have to spend a few minutes entertaining the others which might include politicians, movie stars, or clients.
